| Nothing promotes peace....the ones who run the show on this fucked up world own the weapons industry, so Peace is bad for business....wanna bet that after the European Union is no more, the new cold war arch enemy will be China ? Buy some ultra-high tech weapons systems US companies stocks....the ones the Pentagon pumps money into. I bet their stocks are going to skyrocket in some years, just like Lockheed's stock during ww2 Ancient Greeks had a sayin, War is the father of everything....and they were no idiots eh ? Not like the modern greeks bahahaha but it's logical the Turks fucked our asses for 400 years we have nothing in common with our ancient ancestors (i believe the Brits have more in common with ancient greeks, both much into homo stuff.... | |

| Hm, the revenue from the weapon industry is insignificant compared to the revenues that can be derived from all the other nonsense products/services. Keep in mind too that war can't go on forever, people die away. | |

| Wars are all over, all the time. And every now and then, say 50 years a major one comes up...and gives birth to major scientific discoveries. As for revenues from other businesses i'm sure the same smart ones own those as well... Btw, an update to the other thread...Spain asked for help, Italy follows suit soon...it's expanding....and soon the US will downgrade the E.U as a whole. Sooner or later Greece first and all the PIIGS right after leave the Euro....and Germany then can't collect all the dough it gave to the piggies...and goes bankrupt itself like some US banks....then the Jews that run the show the last thousands of years rush in and buy everything, and EXACTLY like WW2, the new boogeyman to keep the warmachine running will be China, the reds are coming once again (cool, we'll get to see some great 007 movies again !) But of course all this has nothing to do with reality....because in the real world Doreen and her fucking angels and Indigos are going to change this world.... | |

| China is THE rising economic power ... supporting war would severely impact their export marketplace and primary source of income/GDP. They won't let the EU fail either, just like they won't let the US fail...too big to fail | |

| the US is taking hold of Middle East oil...only Iran remains, not for long now....then whenever the US want to destroy China they simply create an incident (Korea most probably) and embargo their ass...like they did with the Japs in WW2...Russia doesn't have that much oil to give them, China's needs equals those of the US now...the Yankees have defeated 4 empires, i don't believe the time for modern Rome to fall has come yet.... | |

| yes globalization promotes peace but peace does not promote profit and U.S. is very much about making more and more profit our #1 expenditure GDP wise is National Defense-- they call it "defense" but it should be called "National Offense" in my opinion; we're (bc I'm American citizen) not defending against anyone making $3b a piece warships... the #2 expenditure is Education... can u believe that? if I were president I would operate much like Clinton did, starve the military and put more into education; in the long run, education will win, but not in the short run, because it takes a kid about 18-22 years to mature; so effects of investing into education will not be fully materialized for maybe 4-5 elections, a span of 20-25 years; it's all kaputt/kaput and nothing is going to change, I'm just going to sit here and bitch about it on a forum that nobody does nor ever will read lol If you're interested in some more Schizophrenia Discussion feel free to visit GenericIndigo.com | |

| let's put it this way
if "National Defense" is our (U.S) #1 expenditure,
that means starting wars is the main ingredient of our economic engine
it is said that every dollar gets spent roughly ~3 times over? at least that is what I learned in MacroEcon 101, the "velocity" of money;
so let's say Peace happens, for the U.S. at least; our economy will actually go kaputt because what happens to all the jobs and the money that "national defense" expenditure gets spent on; our economy would shrivel up overnight
"Peace" is something that is very much economically drive right now; it's not like the Gov't doesn't know this; they're very much in the "know"-- it's not an easy problem to unravel, to just END war production; it must be unraveled slowly and maybe never because it's so ingrained into our culture and economy; It's comparable to cutting out a cancer that's spread through the whole body, maybe just impossible to have "world peace" when "war" is really what drives our economic engine

| I see what you mean ... stopping war right away is economically unfeasible. Unless, you can find a different avenue for economic growth ... hm. | |

| maybe if we develop fusion or an unlimited energy source; but it's always been war war war from the start of this country to now; I don't blame it, but I do recognize the problem without having a negative opinion nor positive opinion about it;
it's easy to be a hippie and cry for "world peace" without seeing the devastating economic consequences of actually ending the mini wars "we" start around the world;
