Shielding (specific makes it harder for people to find you)

Well I guess I might be the one writing tutorials I dont mind. Maybe soulfire was a little over the top but lets try something more specific

Well what is the best way to describe this. All people have the ability to shield. It is basically creating a bubble around you that if you are attacked it then helps you be protected a bit more than you would be if you leave yourself open. I have also been told that if you shield TOO much it is more of a deritment it almost becomes like a drug, so it makes you feel protected but if you are empathic or sensitive to energy it tends to block out what you normally would be feeling. In the short term I believe it is alright to use for short periods of time so transitions can be made or if you do NEED to a bit of quite time.

Anyway it is hard to explain this one but here it goes.

QUICK NOTE: ALWAYS USE INTENT ... IT IS MUST WHEN SHIELDING

1. Push your energy out to a few feet around you to create a bubble.
2. Once the bubble has been created (use what ever colour you wish I tend to use a clear one)
3. Now imagine the energy going around the bubble flowing around it (the best analogy I can think of is .... imagine you and the shield are a rock in a flowing river and imagine the water is the energy flowing around the rock).

This will either make it alot harder to find you or invisible. I sometimes do this in the shopping centres and it is amazing how many people have a very glassy eye when looking at you and they just step aside from you. It works quite well for me ... or maybe I am just very delusion ... I will let you decide.

Shielding is a powerful tool. It is also a highly addictive tool, espeically for those who tend to be introverted anyway as it keeps you safe from outside energies (both negative and positive).

Unfortunately it DOES tend to keep you from even feeling your own energy (or to receive new energy), especially if over-used, and this can inhibit your own spiritual growth; keeping you from moving forward; keeping you locked in a bubble of changelessness.

I refrained from shielding for those very reasons; I wanted to feel it all. I still don't know how to shield myself effectively cause I haven't tried or practiced it ... but sometimes I think I'd be better off if I would. I get overwhelmed easily and my introvert nature amplifies that dynamic.

It helps - especially in certain situations (such as being in the pressence of a very negative energy).

It is good to know how to shield, and very good practice to choose not to unless absolutely necessary

The very simplest type of shielding is to visualize white light bubbling out from the top of your head like a fountain - let it cover you from head to toe like a second skin.

Now push it out (sort of like blowing up a balloon) until it is at least 2-3 feet away from your body.

If it works right, you should feel a slight "space" around you, like your energy is floating in a bubble.

Once you've mastered a simple shield you can adjust/tweak it to fit specific situations and/or types of energy. I've even managed to make one that is permeable to positive energy while straining out negative as well as one for when I need to focus on something and can't be disturbed by anything. But that will come in time

For now a simple body-shield can work wonders, and is really easy to visualize/maintain.

Is there a way to have it originate from a different place? I tend to have an over-active/overly open crown, especially when I do energy work of any kind; it gives me headaches. Once I'm more confident about it I could probably curb the effects on my crown ... not sure though.

Of course, if you are familiar with the Chakras - simply pull the energy from your heart Chakra and let it encase yourself. Using heart-chakra energy will also help to keep your shield from being overly "abrasive" to others. Not that it will let negative energy in, but it will not inadvertanatly hurt anyone either. Crown Chakra energy can do that unintentionally, especially if you are energetically active.

May I make a suggestion as to the headaches? Before you do any energy work, make sure that you ground your energy by surging your crown chakra energy back down through your Chakras, straight out of the base chakra and into the earth itself; let some of the excess crown chakra disperse that way, mix with earth energy (grounding) and then pull it back up, it will tend to be subtler that way, easier to deal with if you're prone to high energetics

As a note - grounding by mixing your energy with earth energy can also increase the overall strength of your energy and bolster the power of the lower chakras (especially usefull if your higher chakras tend to be overly active )

I usually ground myself, especially when something is iffy ... I have a hard time doing that with my crown though; sometimes I think my crown has a life of its own and doesn't want to cooperate lol.

I like the heart-chakra approach; channeling from the heart chakra is easy for me .

I treat the energy from the crown chakra like a laser - shoot it right back down the spinal column and down into the ground, you extend the link (loop) with earth energy which brings it under control

The heart chakra channeling does work well though
