Seasons: Autumn

The last six years on Hawaii deprived me of the experience of changing seasons. It's not like Hawaii doesn't have seasons at all, but the changes are less pronounced than elsewhere.

I did not realize how much I missed the seasonal changes until I got to the mainland. It's October now and Texas is still pretty warm in comparison to other places; yet, the difference to summertime is very tangible ... air and light have a different quality; leaves are changing colors; it actually gets chilly at night; it's fun to curl up on the couch with a cup of tea or hot cocoa ... I can imagine that Christmas I around the corner (Hawaii just doesn't ever feel like x-mas) ...
