This really sucks....so young, such a beautiful voice and a great future ahead, but everything ended because a fucking loser with a gun.
One day later, another fucking loser with a bigger gun killed 49 people inside of a gay bar in Orlando, just a couple of miles from where Christina was murdered.
I get it, there is no lack of gay haters in this country, but how about Christina?
She just had finished her show and was signing autographs and taking pictures with her fans when this guy approached her...she opened her arms to hug him when he pulled a gun and shot her three times. She died a few hours later.
I guess that there are no boundaries for the this American guns insanity.

Interestingly, I came to the realization that I still don't know how to deal with death. I even wonder if her Christian family is dealing with this better than I am. They believe that she is now an angel next to God and that eventually they will be together again. I only have the pain of a loss.
Just recently I lost a friend to cancer....not big deal...he was very sick for many years and in pain. He was not that young either.....mission accomplished, time to go and give some space to the new generation.
My father is old and one of these days he will check out too...not big deal again....what? do you want to live forever?
With Christina was very different...only 22 years old, a sweet person, very talented and with a bright future ahead. To have everything ending in a flash just because some crazy dude with a gun decided that if he could not have her, nobody would, is the sickening part.
I know that Christina self no longer exists and therefore no more youtube videos....that's my loss. Christina no longer feels anything... no pain, no love no fears, no sadness. My pain was caused by her death, but mainly because I lost something I liked.
Death only hurts the living.

I do envy religious people at these moments. (Christina was apparently very religious). It is hard for me to imagine what her family went through these last days, but I'm sure that their religious beliefs is what has been keeping them going right now. I don't have the same luxury and even though I only knew her from youtube videos, I was still very sad and having difficulties dealing with it.
How does an atheist deals with death?
I thought that I had an answer, but her death showed me that I still have ways to go.
I'll keep thinking about it and posting my thoughts in here.

Obsession, that’s what drove Christina’s killer to kill her. I’m not a strange to obsessions. This thread is a good example of it and the simple fact that this forum still exists is another.
I had many obsessions throughout my life, most of the time with things, a couple times with girls, but not even close to the point of hurting someone. At one time, during my teenager years, I was very obsessed with soccer. I used to sleep with my team uniform and with a soccer ball next to me. I loved the leather smell of the ball. Obsessions are not all bad, I became a very good soccer player in the process. The former Indigo Society was another obsession of mine. I spent many hours on that site, every day. It seems that I only lose one obsession, because I find a new one. Things get tricky or even dangerous when we get obsessed with people, specially when it involves some form of sexual attraction. I once got obsessed with a porn star. I think I watched every video I could find plus interviews, etc, but I always knew that it was a fantasy. Apparently for Christina’s killer, the realization that his obsession was a fantasy morphed into hate.
Now, I’m the one obsessed with Christina, but how did I get to this?
I imagine some kind of perfect storm because I've always really loved people with talent and I always hated the fucking guns….put the two things together and here we are.

Speaking about my obsessions in a country obsessed with guns, but that may be about to change sooner than we think.
You see, Christina had around 3.6 million followers on youtube. That's just a little short of the numbers of members the NRA claims to have. Chances are that those 3.6 million teenagers may not be very in favor of guns after what just happened and in just a few years, these kids would be voting.
On top of that Selena Gomes (Christina’s Friend) cried on stage during a tribute to Christina and she has around 9.7 million followers on youtube and 43.4 million followers on twitter.
Fucking Bieber also cried on stage and he has about 22.4 million followers on youtube and 83 million followers on twitter.
All of those followers, mostly teenagers, were exposed to this and will be active in political process pretty soon.
Even though, the death of 49 people at the pulse shocked the nation, I believe that the death of Christina could have bigger repercussion in the future.

No, it seems there are no bounds for this new trend, get a gun and go out there and shoot someone....it doesn't matter much who you shoot, as long as you'll make the news and will become "immortalized" maybe that's why those despicable monsters murder sweet and talented people like this poor girl, or carry a loaded gun into a college or bar and shoot indiscriminately. What's worse is that the media act like vultures, profiting on the blood of innocents as they fully exploit such events to get high numbers of viewers. And possibly indirectly urge more psychos to claim their own moment in history. The world is definitely not going into a good place...and maybe it's for the best. No fucing angels or aliens will come to save our shitty asses and maybe if we go extinct, the planet can eb saved for some future species that will thrive millennia later. Maybe because we bit the dust at the right time. We humans exist because a fuckign meteor destroyed the dinosaurs. Maybe future cockroackmen paleontologists will write about how grateful they are for humans being such a self-destructing violent and vile species....

I've learned much about Christina lately. She was religious...(nobody is perfect), but other than that, she was perhaps the sweetest human being that I ever encountered. I imagine that religious people are struggling quite a bit to find an explanation for how their God could allow something like this to happen to a person like her or the twenty kids murdered at Sandy Hook.
You actually don't have to go very far to find an explanation.
Either God doesn't exist or he is really incompetent, or evil, or simply doesn't give a fuck.

You are correct, but you only got a piece of the pie.The media profit from violence, I agree, but people would not go very far if the only weapons available were baseball bats. The easy availability of guns just make this shit a lot easier.
There are many media outlets posting Christina's picture right next to the sicko who killed her, I would not be surprised if that's exactly what the killer wanted. I just wish the media would dedicate a little bit of energy making fun of the killers with their tiny/non existent dicks.

Well, the gun lovers could argue that since the authorities are powerless or dont want to stop the criminals, then the people should have the right to defend themselves. But reality prove them wrong as in Europe and countries like mine guns are not free for all and crime is less than in the US.
I hate it too, fucking lawyers and "samaritans" out there rushing to defend the criminals baptizing them the victims of society and caring more for their rights than their victims. Castrate every rapist outhere and fuckerz would think twice about doing it. Publicly ridicule and belittle murderers and psychos would also think twice about "immortalizing" themselves the wrong way. Maybe the post-apocalyptic cockroach folk will make a better world than we proud humans did.

yep, this is one of the excuses. It is also a giant piece of garbage. They make sound like that we are surrounded by criminals and rapists.

This is a very pessimistic view for humanity, unfortunately there is a good probability that you are right.
I often like to look at the other direction and see evolved humans doing really great things for humanity....It is amazing to see how far we got since we came down from the trees...we landed on the moon, we know our place in the universe, pretty soon we will be using 3D printers to print live replacement organs from our own cells, using self driving cars, smart phones with personal assistants,etc.. yet, most of us are still behaving like animals fighting over territory, power, females, etc.
hey, six years ago the progressive State of California voted down gay marriage, today, that's legal all over the country. I never expected that. We even have a black dude in the white house. Things can change, hopefully before we end up destroying the planet.

you know what my problem is?
I have a fucking good memory, that's what it is.
My mind is my gift and my curse.
I'm a fucking hoarder of thoughts.
It has been over one month and I just can't get her songs out of my head, no matter what I do.
Music is very powerful for breaking our mental barriers and activating emotions...companies are aware of that when they select songs for their ads. Churches use it, politicians use it in their campaigns, countries use it for brainwashing its citizens.
Music is tightly linked with emotions. I tried to load up my mind with other thoughts and songs, but they don't have the same emotional charge that Christina's songs have, therefore her songs always prevail in my memory.

.........and the great irony could be.....
I'm not positive about this, but I think that Christina's mother had a Facebook page and one of the people she was following was Sarah Palin....the second amendment "guns for all" queen (including the psychopath that killed Christina).
It is a bit of a stretch to say that her mother was directly responsible for her daughter's death, but people with that kind of mentality, as a group, are.
The odds of Christina being alive today in a country with strict gun laws would be very high.

I've been coming to the same place in Orlando for many years during the second weekend in March for work, but this time it was a little different.
It just happened to be Christina's 23th birthday (yesterday, March 12) and I was working just a couple of blocks from where she was killed. I even drove in front of the place to check it out.
I'm no longer attached to dates and places and I have no doubt that other people would be trying to find some spiritual meaning for this....I just felt a little sad knowing it was her birthday and it happened to someone that I knew and in a place that I've been many times before.

It is the Little Mermaid- part II, when Ariel gets shot and killed by a jealous Flounder, because he could not deal with her being in love with prince Eric.
We are not taught to believe that in real life, sometimes evil wins.
I imagine that children living in places torn by wars, where death of innocents is common, have a different perspective of life.
