Truth and Inevitability Empty

Let me be clear: THIS POST IS NOT ABOUT RELIGION….well, maybe a little bit. Twisted Evil
A few years ago my Christian brother-in-law came with his Jesus bullshit, and I told him: before you try to convert anyone into your religion, take a look at yourself. Your Jesus apparently hasn’t been very kind to you, your life is a fucking mess and you are hardly an example of happiness. In fact most people that I admire are atheists.
I found this article on the internet many years ago and the most interesting part (in my opinion) is:

Quote :
"I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours."
A rational person rejects all human gods equally, because all of them are equally imaginary. How do we know that they are imaginary? Simply imagine that one of them is real. If one of these thousands of gods were actually real, then his followers would be experiencing real, undeniable benefits. These benefits would be obvious to everyone. The followers of a true god would pray, and their prayerswould be answered. The followers of a true god would therefore live longer, have fewer diseases, have lots more money, etc. There would be thousands of statistical markers surrounding the followers of a true god.
Everyone would notice all of these benefits, and they would gravitate toward this true god. And thus, over the course of several centuries, everyone would be aligned on the one true god. All the other false gods would have fallen by the wayside long ago, and there would be only one religion under the one true god.

As I mentioned at the beginning, this post is not about Religion….it is about TRUTH AND INEVITABILITY…..even though, the Universe is always changing, eventually the imaginary gods/ false ideas/ wrong opinions will crumble and the truth will prevail, IT IS INEVITABLE.

The TRUTH is that no one has all the answers, but it's human nature to BELIEVE that we do.

I could say a million things about religion but I won't.... Wink

......again, this thread is not about religion...it was just an example on how (perhaps) things are inevitable.
I was recently thinking about "green men"/gray/whatever the color, but why humanoid?
It makes some sense, the humanoid form is conducive to the development of intelligence. We have free hands with opposite thumbs. Even though, dolphins are very intelligent, I think it would be very hard for them to masturbate...therefore in a race for intelligence development, humans have a big advantage. An octopus on the other hand/hands, could be a serious contender. In fact they are more intelligent than some people I know.
My point is: The development of intelligence in our universe is inevitable and the shape of life dictates who is ahead.
