I don't disagree with you but the thought that we are the only intelligent species in the multiverse...it's mathematically impossible, although this doesn't prove extraterrestrial exist.
I don't think that at our present stage of evolution we are capable of evading the Unievrse's shit. There's always a possibility as i type this a rogue black hole to come, swallow us all and that's all she wrote. From what i read in science articles we need about 300 years more to make Mars habitable and that's a long time for us warlike morons. Of course we plain folk cannot have any idea about the scientific achievements hidden from the public, so yes we may be able to go somewhere else if shit hits the fan not you and me of course but the epitome of humanity no not the scientists and artists but the billionaires muahaha....

Our galaxy alone could be a place with many intelligent life forms (mathematically speaking)....problem is...it is also a fucking big place, actually bigger than fucking big. As at right now, we have no technology to find another civilizations other than to be listening to the stars. There is a much better chance of an advance civilization to find us. (We make a lot of noise on this rock), but then...would they have any interest in contacting us? ....perhaps they are living empty lives and need to find Jesus....Hey ET, you came to the right place, accept Jesus and you will be saved too. lol.

Hehe.....and what then friend ? As soon as the ehad honcho creeps were out of the picture, others would rush in to fill their place. And stupid humans would accept them because most always love to follow and have others telling them how to live their lives and think for them, the easy way all the way.
As for Jesus oh man...when will people stop believing this BULLSHIT ?!....i kept telling idiots at forums that the one who was born on the 25th of December, had apostles, raised the dead etc etc was MITRHA, a fucking Persian fairy tale early christians stole, as most of the so-called holy christian symbols. Historics say that there were sooo many loonie prophets at the time in Galilea, but Jesus followers were numerous and prevailed on every other cult, burnign all evidence of their existence. Good thing some other Gnostic fairy tales like the Nag Hammadi books survived, but even then Gurus rushed to exploit them as well making new cults based on those stories.
As a species we're totally fucked up man, always looking to believe in anything else than ourselves....no wonder aliens don't want to talk to us haha.....

nice post with a spiritual connotation, thank you, but what if there is not a second chance or enough time for the seed to germinate? The seed would be tossed with many others into the failed attempt for evolution bucket.
What if Stephen Hawking is right?

Hawking mentioned that he felt fortunate to be living in this state of existence.

It's survival of the fittest....if that's because the environment fails, so be it. But you have to think, how many planets out there have had failed life on them?? Millions? Billions? It's part of the game, imo. I don't think 'fair' was ever added into the equation.

On the contrary, i think the game is fair enough. Everyone and everything is given a chance to survive and thrive. I remember an old film, David Bowie starred, can't remember the title now, he was an alien and his family was on a distant dying planet, they had not enough water there or something like that. And we on Earth had a heaven in our hands and all we could think of was more efiicient ways to destroy it. It was a story of course but with so much meaning in it. A person or a species that is not grateful and content with what it has invariably fails, like a player who doesn't know when to withdraw in a casino. He or she becomes greedy and sooner or later loses everything. We humans are like this, always wanting more, of everything. More profit, more knowledge, more power, more sex, more fun, more meaning in life....maybe Native Americans had it right, much more than any others, living in harmony with Nature, never wanting more, ok they did their shit like territorial wars etc but no science or "progress" whatever this means. Now white folk with their thirst for knowledge make medicine and prolong life unnaturally, old people who should be dead to make way for the young are still here, children do not die like in the past and yes this is humane but leads to an increase in polulation that the planet cannot feed, so we resort in unnatural ways of cultivation or mutated foods=poison....mankind in general never understood a fundamental law of the Universe, Balance. And that nothing lasts forever, everything waxes and wanes but we look for constant development, like bacteria....until we consume everything and kick the bucket and it's no big deal it's a big-ass multiverse out there.

I am certain there are more advanced societies out there that know we are here....and they have yet to kill us, so....perhaps if that is their right as an evolved race, they have chosen not to exercise it?

By 'fair' I mean that....every life form is not guaranteed a shot at evolution...there are cataclysmic accidents, disease, war, etc...that probably wipe out a species (humanoid or not) on daily basis in our universe. It may not be fair, but, it's how it works.

As far as our population on this planet goes, I shake my head at the people who say...oh, there's enough land to feed everyone...well, that may be the case. But if it is, we haven't learned to utilize it, and people starve to death every day. We are still talking about who people take to their bedrooms, and won't let people marry each other if they're the same sex...not very evolved of us. And, we are still practicing medicine...you'd think after thousands of years we'd have a grip on it by now. And we do keep people alive that should die...we interfere with nature.

"It also gives us a very special, secret pleasure to see how unaware the people around us are of what is really happening to them." Adolf Hitler
It's amazing, the fact that ALL Nazi doctrines and methods apply to today's world....
